LANTEX

     Llano's LANTEX Theatre presented it's first movie on May 19th, 1927 and is one of Texas' last, small town single screen theaters still in operation. The LANTEX shows first run movies, concerts, theatrical productions, and is Home of the Llano Country Opry on the 2nd Saturday of every month. The LANTEX is a City of Llano-owned facility. Its concession operations are staffed by volunteers from local non-profit groups as well as the Llano Main Street program. In addition to helping staff the concessions, Llano Main Street volunteers perform general maintenance and upkeep beyond that which the City of Llano provides. These generous individuals give of their time and talent to help keep the LANTEX open and serving the community. Main Street relies on concession sales to supplement historical preservation projects and promotion in the historical district.
